My husband and I made a rule after getting our second cat that there should never be more cats in the condo than people. However, both of us are cat lovers so when we saw the Toronto Humane Society was looking for foster parents, we both jumped at the chance. Officially, we only have two cats. However, on any given day except during the winter, our condo is filled with little bundles of fur happiness.

Every time a kitten is ready for adoption, we would post a blog entry for the kitten and send a copy with the adoption papers. We hope this would help potential new parents get to know the kittens at adoption and that they were all loved and cared for.

We love hearing back from the new parents and we will try to post any updates here on the site as soon as we can. Owning a pet is a lifetime commitment, but the reward is priceless.

Hi. I am a kitten feeder at the THS and just wanted to say I love reading your blog. It is rewarding to us who sort of start with the kittens to see where they end up and your place sounds like an amazing “aclimitization/loving care zone” during their formulative years. Thoise are lucky kittens who spend some time out of the THS cage and get to run around. I hope you hear back from each kitten’s new owner to let you know he/she is safe and sound. Thank you.

I just wanted to let you know that I love your blog! I foster kittens here in PA and we are suffering from the same Winter Blues that you are. Our kitties were adopted last Saturday and things just aren’t the same here. We are just hoping that a new litter to foster will be found very soon. If you can e-mail me at emmhomeschool3@cescowildblue.com, I would appreciate it. I have a few fostering questions that I would like to ask you. Thanks.

I just found your site, and am hoping to introduce this idea (foster blogging) for our local cat no-kill-shelter! I am a pre-veterinary student at the University of Nevada in Reno, and am intensely interested in the ‘Ojos Azules’ breed/gene characteristic and am doing research that I hope to carry on with when I am in grad school. If (A114627 Alphonse) has been adopted I am very interested in contacting his owner/family, to track this little guy’s health over the next few years. Natural genetic diversity and variation is extremely interesting to me, and this breed of cat has some unusual though interesting genetic characteristics. Eventually I hope that my study could help to breed out the deaf-blue eye gene correlation (found primarily in pure white cats). And personally I am interested in popularizing/publicizing this rare little gem for its intrinsic beauty and personality to be recognized, appreciated and cultured like roses or orchids. Thank you for caring for these special souls, the kittens of the foster program. If you have time, please e-mail me at mccain@africamail.com, I would appreciate it. Thank you, McCain
